About

Visti is the result of a Sunday of mead-fueled berzerker coding by Leo Sutic. Mostly I just wanted to find Husbystenen (U74). The site is named after Visäte, who carved it and signed his name as "uisti risti" or "Uisti carved".

The text around the logo is the last half of the 157th stanza of Hávamál "runified" the same way as the transcriptions on this site:

svá ek ríst ok í rúnum fák,
at sá gengr gumi
ok mælir við mik

I can so carve and colour the runes,
that the man walks
And talks with me

The data is taken from Samnordisk runtextdatabas, and is available under Open Database License (see the previous link for some caveats, though).

Runic Text

The runic text is recreated from the transcription and may not be correct.
